Massive Data Breach Affects 180 Million Users Worldwide, Including Pakistan

Over 180 million people around the world have had their private data, including passwords, leaked in a major cyberattack. Big tech companies like Google, Facebook, and Apple were affected.

Pakistan’s National Cyber Emergency Response Team (N-CERT) has issued a warning to all citizens and organizations in the country to take quick action.

The leaked data also includes information from government websites and popular apps like Instagram and Snapchat. Experts warn that hackers can use this information to steal identities, hack into accounts, and launch more cyberattacks.

N-CERT is asking everyone—especially people working in banks or government offices—to protect their accounts. Pakistani users should change their passwords immediately and turn on two-step verification for extra safety.

N-CERT also said:

  • Never share your passwords through email
  • Do not save passwords in unprotected files
  • Use trusted password manager apps
  • Keep your antivirus and security software updated

People are also advised to keep an eye on strange login attempts and report anything suspicious. Government offices and sensitive organizations must quickly find out who has been affected and take steps to protect them.

Experts say if proper security steps are not taken now, it could put important national systems and services in danger.
