Police have confirmed that 32-year-old actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead in an apartment in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

According to South DIG Syed Asad Raza, her body was found in a flat in Ittehad Commercial Area, Phase-VI. The Gizri police said she had died about two weeks before they found her.

The police said they went to the flat on a court’s order to empty it. They knocked on the door at 3:15pm but no one opened it. They broke the lock and went inside, where they found her body. The Crime Scene Unit came to collect proof from the flat.

Humaira had been living alone in the rented flat.

DIG Raza said the body looked like it had been there for many days. They could not find out how she died at first. Her body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal checks.

Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said the body was badly decomposed. A postmortem was done on Tuesday night, but the cause of death has not been confirmed yet.

South SSP Mahzoor Ali said Humaira had not paid rent since 2024. The owner went to court to get the flat emptied.

Police said there are signs that she was not murdered. The iron gate, wooden door and balcony door were locked from the inside. Police only got in after breaking the door. They are waiting for the coroner’s final report to know the exact cause of death. They are also trying to find her family through her mobile phone.

Humaira Asghar Ali had appeared in the ARY reality show Tamasha Ghar and the 2015 movie Jalaibee.
