Popular Indian actor Mukul Dev, best known for his roles in Bollywood, Punjabi, and South Indian films, as well as hit TV shows, has sadly passed away at the age of 54.
The news was confirmed by his close friend and fellow actor Vindu Dara Singh, who shared that Dev breathed his last on Friday night in a New Delhi hospital after battling a long illness.
While the exact cause of death is not yet known, reports say Dev had been unwell for some time and was hospitalized for over a week. Singh revealed that after losing his parents, Dev had become very private, rarely stepping out or meeting friends. “His health worsened in the last few days, and he was under medical care,” Singh said.
Paying an emotional tribute, Singh posted on social media:
“Rest in peace, my brother #MukulDev! The memories with you will always be precious. #SonOfSardaar2 will remain your final gift to fans—a film that will keep them laughing and celebrating your talent forever.”
Dev leaves behind his 24-year-old daughter, Sia. The entertainment industry and his countless fans mourn the loss of a versatile actor and a warm-hearted soul who left a lasting mark on Indian cinema and television.
